Marking the 150th birth anniversary of Nobel laureate poet Rabindranath Tagore, Adamjee cantonment College has arranged elaborate programmes at its premises. Rabindranath, known as Kabiguru is an asset of Bangla literature. TO celebrate his 150th birth anniversary Adamjee cantonment College begins three day long programmes today. The programmes include rally, discussion and presentation of Tagore songs, dance-drama, poetry recitation, painting competition and honouring veteran Rabindra Sangeet artists. The students of different sections are taking part in the celebration. A discussion on "Our Debt to Tagore" will be held on May 8 afternoon, Nilufa Ahsan, convener of the celebration committee; Professor Sirajul Islam, Vice-Principal and Professor Asraf Uddin will speak at the discussion. Colonel Anis Ahmed, Principal of the college; will preside over the event. Prizes will be given away among the winners of painting and poetry recitation competitions on May 8 as well. Rubina Khan, renowned singer, will be honoured at the programme. The Principal of the college said, "Rabindranath is our pride. We have arranged programmes to make our students acquainted with this great poet". On the occasion of the celebration the college campus has worn a festive look. The teachers and the students of the college are working hard to hold the celebration successfully.
